Princess Leonor, Princess of Asturias and heir to the Spanish crown, swore the Oath to the Constitution (Juramento de la Constitución) before the Cortes Generales (Spanish Parliament) on Thursday, October 31, 2023 at the Congreso de Los Diputados in Madrid. After swearing the oath, the princess received a warm round of applause and a standing ovation from members of the Senate and the Congress of Deputies. The princess also received medals from the presidents of the Senate and the Congress of Deputies.

Once the act of swearing in the Constitution in the Congress of Deputies was completed, the Kings, together with the Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Doña Sofía, moved to the Royal Palace of Madrid, where His Majesty the King imposed the Princess of Asturias the Collar of the Royal and Distinguished Spanish Order of Carlos III, in the presence of the powers of the State. This was followed by a lunch offered by Their Majesties the King and Queen to a representation of the high institutions of the State.
